FEAR MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS RESEARCH
FEARLESS SYSTEMS & TECHNOLOGIES (FST)

When things must change... we provide the best information database on a spectrum of fear management designs and applications to suit your needs
  1. our fearless system analysis ensures that fear and fears are not isolated from the larger fear problem of systems that operate on fear-patterned designs and mistrust
  2. fearless systems and technologies (FSTs) are utilized to replace some of the current safety and security technologies (SSTs), the latter which have negative side effects of inflating fear and reinforcing systemic defensive architectures and cultures of fear which are supported by ever-escalating costs

Fear Management Systems

This diagram pretty much sums up my entire 18 years of work on fear and critical integral theory together in one model. It would take too long to describe all of what is going on in this model, but let’s say it is a “big picture” of the patterns (habits) of how humans have managed fear and continue to manage it over time across the global. This is what I teach in my courses, and if you want to read up more on this model I have some introductory writing on it in some of my latest technical papers (see my BIO/CV). You can e-mail me if you want a copy of those technical papers.  The basic jist of the diagram is that if you think “global warming” is nasty, I suggest equally, that “GLOBAL WARNING” is nasty too... and both those phenomena overlap—of course, my model on “global warning” here is more intuitive and registers a relative scale of “toxicity level” due to how well, or how poorly we manage fear (‘fear’) collectively. So, this is a schematic representation, not a hard scientific graph. It is made for heuristic purposes not to convince an audience to “change their ways” (as Al Gore is doing with his work on climate change—see the documentary or book “Inconvenient Truth”). If Gore is interested in drawing our attention these days to our “Ecological Footprint” then I am interested in drawing our attention to our “Egological Footprint”—and basically, the more unhealthy the ego, the more ‘fear’ is produced as toxic waste on the planet... and it is accumulating to quite dangerous levels, don’t you think? My teaching involves making the point and argument that if we don’t solve the Egological Problem (i.e., Fear Problem) on the planet... we’re sure not going to solve the Ecological Problem (i.e., Global Warming Problem) on the planet. Of course, wisdom would say we ought to solve them both together simultaneously. I argue in various writing that fearism is the root of all other oppressions (isms).
